- Take SAA-C03 first. Kubernetes certificates impress the engineer who interviews you second. They rarely get you to that interview.
You have three years on an AWS managed services desk in Hyderabad, a clean SAA-C03 pass, and a Dublin recruiter has just asked whether you already hold an EU work permit. That question, not your answer on multi-AZ failover, decides most applications into this city. The 2026 additions are AI headquarters. IDA Ireland's July 2026 release confirmed OpenAI leased the Tropical Fruit Warehouse on the south quays as its EU headquarters, creating 250 roles over two years. One correction to the numbers people repeat: aggregator averages above €90,000 for a generic cloud engineer title are pulling architect and principal roles into the same bucket. Treat them as the ceiling of a career, not the price of your next job.

Only the OpenAI, Anthropic and NTT Data lines are hiring announcements, each from a dated 2026 source. The rest describe footprint, which is the more durable signal: a company with a campus keeps hiring through cycles in a way a sales office does not. The work splits three ways. Landing zone work at an IFSC bank is architecture and paperwork. Site work in the western belt is shift-based and hands on. Platform work in Silicon Docks is software engineering that touches infrastructure, and it is the hardest to enter from support.

Skills and Certifications Dublin Employers Ask For
The opinion, bluntly. Aiming at Dublin from scratch, take SAA-C03 first and take it properly. Irish ads reference it more than any other platform credential, and it is the cheapest signal that gets a non-EU CV past a first screen. The trade-off I accept: you look thin on the Microsoft half of the market for about six months.
Close that half next. Irish banks, insurers and public sector suppliers run on Microsoft, so AZ-305 and AZ-400 open doors in Sandyford and the IFSC that AWS credentials do not. Be genuinely good at one platform, conversant in the other. Claiming both at senior level with production scars in neither is the fastest way to fail a Dublin screen.

The Permit Rule That Decides Your Dublin Application
For non-EU candidates this matters more than everything above it. From 1 March 2026 the Critical Skills Employment Permit minimum rose from €38,000 to €40,904 for occupations on the Critical Skills Occupation List. Finish a Level 8 qualification within the previous twelve months and the graduate threshold is €36,848. Off that list but not ineligible, the bar jumps to €68,911.
Read it as a filter on job titles, not only on salary. A €42,000 offer for a listed role clears the permit. A €55,000 offer for a title outside the list does not, and no enthusiasm from the hiring manager changes that. Ask on the first call: is the role on the Critical Skills Occupation List, and is the base above the threshold?
- Applying to roles the employer cannot sponsor. Many Dublin listings bury "must have existing right to work in Ireland" three quarters of the way down. Search for it before you write the cover letter.
- Anchoring on the graduate threshold. The €36,848 rate applies within twelve months of finishing your qualification. If you graduated in 2022, that number is not yours.
- Treating a contract rate as a salary. Dublin contract listings quote day rates on twelve month terms, and contract work maps poorly onto a Critical Skills permit.
- Knowing one platform. AWS-only candidates get screened out of the entire Microsoft-shaped half of the Irish enterprise market.
The honest caveat: Dublin is harder to enter than the job counts suggest if you need sponsorship. Employers with EU-wide hiring rights often prefer candidates needing no permit at all, and Ireland's grid constraints have already touched data centre investment in the county, with 2026 reporting describing paused or relocated hyperscale plans. Job board counts measure demand, not your odds.
Cost of Living Against a Dublin Cloud Salary
A €65,000 Dublin salary sounds transformative from Hyderabad. Then you price a flat. The RTB rent index put average new tenancies in Dublin at €2,232 a month in Q1 2026, and February 2026 reporting on the Daft rental report described city apartment averages pushing toward €2,700, with supply down by over a third year on year.
