What does a Data Engineer actually do?
A data engineer builds the plumbing everything else runs on — ingesting raw data from source systems, modelling and transforming it through bronze, silver and gold layers, orchestrating the jobs that keep it fresh, and making sure analysts, dashboards and AI systems get clean data they can trust. It's software engineering applied to data, not report writing.
What are DP-900 and DP-700?
DP-900 is Microsoft's Azure Data Fundamentals certification — core data concepts, relational and non-relational stores, analytics workloads. DP-700 is the Fabric Data Engineer Associate certification, covering how you actually implement data engineering solutions in Microsoft Fabric. The program preps you for both, plus using Claude in a real data engineering workflow.

Do I need SQL or Python experience already?

How is this different from the AI Engineer webinar?
This session is about the data layer — pipelines, lakehouses, modelling and governance. The AI Engineer session is about the systems built on top of it: agents, RAG and evaluation. Plenty of people do this one first, because AI projects stall without the data platform underneath.
Do I need to install anything to join?
No installs needed to attend — just a stable internet connection and the joining link we email you. If you want to follow along hands-on, we'll share simple setup steps in advance.
Is my payment or card information needed to register?
