Frequently asked questions
Do I need a technical background?
No. AB-900 is purpose-built for non-technical professionals in AI-enabled organizations. There is no coding anywhere in this program, and the Copilot Studio agent you build is created entirely through the visual maker experience.
What exactly is AB-900?
It is Microsoft’s fundamentals credential for Microsoft 365 Copilot and its administration, aimed at the people who roll Copilot out and govern it rather than the developers who extend it. It is the entry rung of the AB series and leads on to AB-100.
Do I need a Copilot licence to take part?
Helpful but not required. We demonstrate admin centre and Copilot Studio work live and provide trial-based lab guidance so you can practise on your own tenant. Exam vouchers are purchased separately from Microsoft.
How is this different from the free Microsoft learning paths?
The learning paths teach features. This program is run live by trainers who have delivered real rollouts, and it ends with four artefacts you can put in front of your own leadership: a governance plan, a published agent, an adoption dashboard and a usage policy.

Every session is recorded and you get lifetime access to the recordings, plus the option to re-attend any future batch at no extra cost.
